I’m Curious…

Filed under: Site News — Dennis @ 11:01 pm

Site changes & stuffCuriosity, as my mom always told me, killed the cat. But satisfaction brought him back. Luckily for me, I’m not a cat. What’s got me scratching my head lately is traffic. No, not the kind that makes you spew cusswords on your way to work. I mean the kind that hits websites. I’ve managed to get a stats monitor up and running but the darned geolocation isn’t working worth crap, so… I put up a new poll.

I’ve been wondering for a while just where all you folks were coming from so, now you can tell me yourselves. Don’t see your location in the list yet? No problem. In this poll, you will be able to add answers of your own to the list (sorry, but for some reason, that won’t work in IE6. It works fine in Firefox and I’m not sure about IE7).

So . . . where ya from? 😉

New Category

Site changes & stuffOkay, everybody. After getting a big ol’ bunch of requests for it, I’ve finally made a new (temporary) category just for the November 27 byelection. A lot of people were complaining that finding all the posts was a bit of a pain because they had multiple tags and other stuff was cluttering up the results as they were searching. 🙄

Well, now there’s a seperate category. After the byelection, I’ll just delete it but until then, go nuts.  Never let it be said that I can’t be accommodating when I want to. 😆

Well, Golly

Thanks, guysGee whiz, guys; I didn’t know you cared. 😆 I’ve only been ranting now for about six months and, while I’ve somehow managed to rack up over 12,000 visitors in that time, I had no idea just what kind of, er… interesting folks… were popping by to check out the stuff percolating up from the muck and the mire at the bottom of my brain. Then, the other day, I noticed this (click for a bigger look-see):

Well, lookie here...

I figured I must have been drawing a few folks’ interest but, dang; the House of Commons?? Shucks, guys; I didn’t know ya cared… 😀

Cheers

Fire In The (Pie)Hole!!!

That's, ah say, that's NOT all, folks...Yup, ol’ King Ralph done gone an’ done it agin. The longest serving premier in Canada may be on his way out, but he’s sure not gone yet. Ol’ Ralphie has the Grits, MSM, feminazis and a hoary host of other usual suspects in an utter tizzy after making a risque and Ralphingly off-colour crack about the Librano$’ favourite insult to dogs everywhere, Belinda Stronach. Never mind that the jibe was delivered at a charity roast in Calgary. After all, it’s not like roasts are a place where anybody ever gets mercilessly raked over the coals now, is it? For both of you that don’t already know, here’s the joke:

“And I wasn’t surprised she crossed over – I don’t think she ever did have a Conservative bone in her body. Well, except for one… speaking of Peter MacKay…”

Aw, shucks...Now, I don’t know about you, but I thought that was damned funny, and apparently so did plenty in the crowd that night, including one woman that came dangerously close to an “I laughed so hard my wine came out my nose” incident. But hey, why let a good raucous joke get in the way of working up a good steam of indignation?

Let’s face it, boys and girls; when Ralph has something in his head, no matter what it is, it’s only a matter of time before it falls out his mouth. And Ralph doesn’t give a tinker’s dam if anybody else can take a joke or not. He never has before and he’s sure as hell not going to start now.

Ralph has been known throughout his entire public life as a man that shoots from the lip. He didn’t tone it down when he was a public servant, so just why does anybody think he’s going to change now that he’s on his way out? For those of you not familiar with Ole King Ralph (almost a third of my traffic comes from the US), here’s a list of some of my favourite Ralphisms (which also show that Ralph doesn’t play political favourites when it comes to barbs):

Ralph on the subject of…

Edmonton v Calgary:
Edmonton isn’t really the end of the world — although you can see it from there.

Former Ontario Premier Bob Rae (NDP):
I think that he’s a very educated person, but he’s a dumb politician.

Former Saskatchewan Premier Roy Romanow (also NDP):
You would never know Roy Romanow was a lawyer because he was a basic down-to-earth individual. I had a lot of time for Roy, notwithstanding our political differences. Roy, I had a lot of time for; Bob Rae, I had no time for, whatsoever.

Quebec:
Quebec is part of Canada as much as a cat in the mouth of a crocodile is a part of the crocodile
.
Flipping an environmentalist the bird:
Randy Lawrence ran up on stage where we were all seated … and gave us all the finger. So I gave him the finger back.

Governance:
There’s an old saying in politics. Anyone dumb enough to run for the job probably is too stupid to have it.

People gunning for his job:
Whoever becomes the premier will have a tremendous amount of challenges. That’s why I wake up in the morning and I say: ‘Why am I here?’ It’s because I am not all there.

His other career options:
To go into TV these days you have to be young and pretty. I am neither.

COMMUNITY ALERT: London, Ontario

Why, yes, I AM PISSED OFF... how can you tell?As if we didn’t have enough arseholes in this city already, police are now reporting that they think 23-year old Ahmed Moalin-Mohamed may have made his way back to London in defiance of a bail condition that he stay out of Middlesex County unless it was for a court date. He was ordered to live at the address of his mother (Mabelle Avenue, in TO) and obey a curfew, too. Aw, but he promised… 🙄 Golly, what are the chances that a scumbag that would shoot four people would lie?

This here is the only photo that I’ve been able to find of this waste of skin. Keep your eyes open. If you see this bugger, CALL THE COPS:

Ahmed Moalin-Mohamed

Chugging Right Along

Filed under: Site News — Dennis @ 8:07 pm

Site changes & stuffWhew.  Well, at least that part’s done.  Finally.  For those of you that have been noticing and wondering the answer is: yes, the archives have been slowly getting beefier as the last few days have gone by.  The last of the posts from the second blog that used to be located at ConservativeFolks.ca has now been migrated to here.  Pain in the butt job that was, too, considering that it had to all be done manually… 🙄
Now all I need to get done is to do the same with all the posts from the original blog… 😯
