Yeah, it’s a bomb alright

Hey, its funny...This was just too damned funny not to post. I could go on a long jag about what I think about this and all sorts of other stuff, but sometimes it’s better to just sit back and let something speak for itself. And that’s what I’m going to do now.

Man’s pump tale bombs

Fri, August 25, 2006
By APCHICAGO — Cook County prosecutors say a 29-year-old man travelling with his mother was desperate to keep her from knowing he’d packed a sexual aid for their trip to Turkey.

So he told security it was a bomb, officials said.

Madin Azad Amin, 29, of Skokie, Ill., was stopped Aug. 16 after guards found an object in his baggage that resembled a grenade.

Amin’s been charged with felony disorderly conduct, said Andrew Conklin, of Cook County state attorney’s office.

When officers asked him to identify it, Amin said it was a bomb.

He later told officials he’d lied because his mother was nearby and he didn’t want her to hear it was part of a penis pump.

Spongehead cowed

Both dumb and dumberGood news for a change. It seems that the Grits have actually done something right, even if it was done more for optics that out of any sense of right and wrong (Grit morality twists and turns in the wind of public opinion, after all). Amid a barrage of criticism from virtually every non-islamofascist corner of the land, including within his own party, Ontario Grit MP Boris Wrzesnewskyj has resigned his post as as deputy foreign affairs critic. And none too soon.

Now all we need to do is get this terrorists’ useful idiot out of Parliament altogeather.

Wrzesnewskyj, you might remember, is the clown who earned the endearment of every terrorist sympathizer in the country by saying it would be a good idea for Canada to open up a dialogue with Hezbullshit and remove them from Canada’s list of terrorist organisations. How the hell do idiots like this even get elected in the first place?

Oh, yeah, I forgot. He’s from Toronto.

I like the way he thinks

No more Mr Nice GuySeems some folks want more on the Israeli-Lebanon / citizens of convenience thing. At least that’s what my emails are saying lately. Well, don’t worry. I’ll have more on that in due time but, like most other people in the counrty, my attention has been more occupied with domestic matters lately.

Believe me when I tell you that I’ve got plenty left to say and I don’t seem to be alone, either. More and more people that I run into are starting to ask the same questions and demanding the same answers. Like this guy right here, taken from today’s Freeps’ letters to the editor page:

As a refugee from Soviet hordes in 1944, and later as an employee of the UN International Refugee Organization in Europe, as well as a “genuine” Canadian since 1954, I wish to comment on the Lebanese-Canadians in Lebanon.

The mass hysteria by some (mostly liberal and NDP politicians, and the left-leaning media) about Conservative government’s purported dereliction of duty is deplorable.

Leftist politicians are wooing future voters rather than helping the evacuees. The media are spinning half-truths and outright lies, based on their beef with the Conservative government. Yes, we have legal responsibility to help genuine Canadians, but I do not believe that same obligation applies to the “convenient” Canadians.

It is refreshing to see many people, including some responsible MPs on both sides of the aisle, and several respected opinion makers, expressing the same thoughts.

Misuse of dual (or even multiple) citizenship, introduced by the Liberals 30 years ago, will no doubt be addressed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper in due course.

In the meantime, let us hope that the evacuees being brought back to Canada at Canadian taxpayers’ expense will appreciate this generosity and stop complaining and blaming our government for their supposed neglect to provide air-conditioned buses, ferries and accommodations.

Quote of the day

“My mother doesn’t like that, and I’m sure President Bush will be getting a letter . . . But I’ve been called a lot worse than that – including by people who say they like me.”

Hey, its funny...Prime Minister Stephen Harper, when asked by a Calgary radio host Dave Rutherford about a recent news conference in Washington, where U.S. President George W. Bush surprised him by calling him “Steve,” a diminutive used only by a few close friends.

This is good

Filed under: Funny — Dennis @ 2:44 pm

Hey, its funny...I know, I know. This really has nothing to do with anything, but some things are just too darned funny not to post. Like this is. I found it on the letters to the editor page of today’s issue of the Freeps and it had me laughing so hard I was in danger of a coffee-out-the-nose incident.

It starts off pretty plain, just the kind of list of reasonable complaints that you might expect to hear from someone in this guy’s position. You wouldn’t even think it could be funny until you get to the last paragraph. Then it’s funny. I wonder what that kid has to say now?

Going to drive-in? Here’s a primer on good manners

First off, I am not out to spoil anyone’s fun.

As someone who lives in the country, I do have some suggestions to certain folks who come to the Mustang Drive-in.

  • While juggling for a spot in line, please do not make U-turns into oncoming traffic. I have seen way too many close calls.
  • Do not block our driveways.
  • Please do not litter or urinate on our lawns.
  • When hiding your friends in the trunk, at least make some effort to hide it.
  • When dropping your friends off on Highway 74 to sneak in, please ask them to be quiet when cutting through our yards and to be careful not to trample the freshly planted crops.
  • Please do not knock our mailboxes off the poles.
  • Most of all, please try to refrain from honking at the start and at intermission. The owners will start when they are ready. You may only come out once in a while, but it gets really old twice a night, seven days a week.

P.S. If a parent lent out a beige/tan minivan on June 26 that came home with the rear bumper dented, it was because your son got caught trying to hit my mailbox with a two-by-four. He took off so fast in reverse he went into the ditch and hit a fence pole.

Thanks from the country.
